I hope that everyone is enjoying their summer and keeping busy by creating new interesting work.  Here we are in August and NCAA already has lots of events planned for the Fall season.
Be sure to take notes and get your entries in on time.
1.  Pick up for the Art of Association Show is:  Thursday, August 15, 8:00-8:30 (after 3rd Thursday) or Friday, August 16, 10-5 and Saturday, August 17, 10-2.
2.  NCAA Exhibit at Eissey Theatre at Palm Beach State College:  October 10- November 7.  We have been on their list of exhibitions for over four years.  The deadline for entries is August 23rd and is limited.  Please choose a moderately sized entry.   Contact Linda at:  MathisonLR@gmail.com for an entry form.
3.  Artybra at the Lighthouse Art Center has a September 4th deadline.   Applications  are available at LCA.  The show opens on September 9th and the Fashion Show is on October 22.  For more information visit www.lighthousearts.org
4.  Jupiter Community Center Art Show:  September 30-November 12.  This has been an NCAA tradition for many years and we have sales every year.  Deadline for applications is September 20th.  Delivery is Monday, September 30th, 9-12.   Opening reception is on Friday, October 4, 6-8PM.  Contact Linda for entry form at:  mathisonLR@gmail.com
5.  D'Art for Art donations need to be dropped off by October 24th.  Applications are available on line at:  www.lighthousearts.org .  This is a truly memorable event and I strongly urge members to donate really fine work.  This is a venue that puts your work into collections and offers very good exposure.   I am also recommending that you buy a ticket to D'Art......What fun!     D'Art is on Saturday, November 9th.
6.  The Lighthouse Art Center is offering two wonderful trips this Fall and we should plan on enjoying both.   On Wednesday, October 16, there is a trip to the Elliot Museum in Stuart.  Thursday, December 5th there will be a bus to Art Basel in Miami.  Katie Deits and I will be offering personal tours.   More information below:
On Wednesday, October 16, 2013 join your escort Evelyne Bates and your friends from Lighthouse ArtCenter for a one-day trip to the new Elliott Museum in Stuart.
The bus will depart from the ArtCenter at 10:30 a.m. You’ll enjoy lunch (not included in price) at the museum’s Outrigger Café and a private docent tour of “Celebrating Viva Florida 500.”
After the guided tour, you will have time to explore on your own before heading back, arriving in Tequesta at 4 p.m.
Tickets are $38 (which includes the tour, bus trip, plus a tip for the bus driver).
Want to experience Art Basel/Miami without the stress of travel, plus have a personal tour with Lighthouse ArtCenter Executive Director Katie Deits and artist Gerri Aurre.
A luxurious bus will leave at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2013. You’ll enjoy lunch on the famous Lincoln Road and then see the latest in Contemporary Art. After an interesting art-filled day, relax and have a glass of wine on the bus ride back to Tequesta (arriving back at 7 p.m.).
Tickets are $55 (includes Art Basel ticket, bus ride and tour. Lunch and tip for driver are additional).
For each ArtTrip, space is limited to 32 guests, and reservations are required. To purchase your tickets, call (561) 746-3101 or visit LighthouseArts.org.
Monday, September 9                   NCAA Meeting at 7PM at the Lighthouse.
Monday, September 16                  Drop off art at Corner Cafe, 2:30
Monday, October 14                       NCAA and The Artists of Palm Beach County will be holding their monthly meeting together at the Lighthouse ArtCenter.
I think that we have so many fine opportunities to show our work and to enjoy the art experience in South Florida. Every year seems to expand our options and enhance our understanding of the art world around us.
Keep creating!
