MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

HAPPY NEW YEAR 🥂🎨
NCAA has been invited to submit entries to the Town of Jupiter Art Committee Annual Celebration of the Arts.
The theme this year is: Priceless Memories. Applications must be received by February 22, 2019 and you can get one by contacting Linda Mathison at: mathisonlr@gmail.com
The entry fee is $10.
Opening reception is on Friday, March 1, 6PM

Our presenter at this month’s meeting on Monday, January 14, is Chad Steve.  Steve teaches at the Lighthouse Art Center and will speak about ceramics.

JOIN US FOR OUR HOLIDAY PARTY AND ART EXCHANGE......December 10th, 7PM at the Lighthouse Art Center.
The return of our pizza party and Art exchange...
Bring a small wrapped piece of your work and go home with a surprise work of art.

Gallery Square North is planning an Art Festival on Saturday, March 30th. NCAA will be one of the sponsors of this event and will be having a tent.  Entries will be free to members and we will provide details in January.  Start painting!

This month’s Artists showing around our area are:
Pam Ayers and Sandy Meyer, featured artists at the Jupiter Community Center from November 30 to January 4.
Dorothea Talik was invited to exhibit her work at the Mandel Jewish Community Center on Sunday, December 16, 10-5.  This show and sale will benefit children with special needs.
Joan Lagoulis will be at the Lake Park Library from January 3 to February 28.  The Opening reception is on January 24th, 5-6:30.

MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

Our November demonstrator will be Fernando Porras. Fernando is on the faculty at the Lighthouse Art Center and is offering several workshops. He specializes in travel studies and will be doing a watercolor for us. It should be a fine evening....Monday, November 12 at 7PM at the Lighthouse Art Center.

We will be having a Board meeting on November 14th at noon, at the Village Art Studios....lunch will be served as well. All are welcome... so are your ideas! Let me know at our monthly meeting if you are planning on joining us.

Pick up at Jupiter Community Center has been changed to Monday, November 26, 9-12.

Two of our members are in shows this month:

Pam Ayres is showing her work in the Annual All Florida Juried Arts Show at the Court House Cultural Center in Stuart, until November 15.

Manon Sander will be at the Palm Beach Gardens Town Hall, "COLOR X2" until December 5.

MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

The Opening of our show at Jupiter Community Center is on Friday, October 5th, from 6 to 8.
There is still time to enter....bring your piece to the Center on Monday morning, October 1st, between 9 and 12.


Caryl Pomales, a new member, will be demonstrating this month on how to paint pet portraits.

Our meeting will be held at The New Studio for the Visual Arts at 1615 Cypress Drive, Tequesta, where she will be teaching a workshop.

Art of Association will be closing on October 11.  Pick up work on Friday, October 12th. Our member, Bruce Bain was a prize winner!

The Village Art Studios will be having their Halloween get together on Third Thursday, October 18th, 5:30to 8:00.  Perhaps you could dress up and join us..a chance to be creative.

REMEMBER:
NCAA Meeting this month is at the New Studio for the Visual Arts on Cypress Drive.

MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

North County Art Association will be starting this season with an exhibit at the Art of Association show at the Lighthouse Art Center.

Our first meeting is on Monday, September 10th, at 7PM.  Luckily, we will have the wonderful opportunity for a private showing and discussion about the artwork.

Our demonstrator this month will be Hope Reid, an American Impressionist painter.  She suggested that she work on a painting about a child on the beach.

Awards will be presented for Art of Association at the 3rd Thursday event on September 20th, 5:30-7:30, at LAC.

We have been asked once again, to exhibit at the Jupiter Community Center in October..
Email Linda at:  mathisonlr@gmail.com for an application.  The exhibit runs from October 5th thru November 23rd.  Completed applications need to be received by September 24th.  Instructions on the application.


Don't forget, we will continue to show our work at the Corner Cafe this season. Bring a painting on the 3rd Monday of the month at 2:30....that's September 17th.

MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT


Art of Association at the Lighthouse ArtCenter is being held September 4th - October 12th, 2018
Each Association has been asked to handle the submissions for this year.

Information for submission is as follows:

To be considered for the show submit a jpeg of your work, title, size, medium, price, your name, phone number and email to Linda: mathisonlr@gmail.com by July 9th.

Work must be original, no giclees/copies.

Work must be completed within the last year and not previously shown at the Lighthouse Artcenter.

Work size for Horizontal:  48"x36" (framed no larger than 53"x42")

Work size for Vertical:  24"x72" (framed no larger than 29"x76")

The North County Art Association is only allowed 15 pieces of work this year.  A drawing of all pieces entered will be held on  July 11th.  All those chosen will be notified by July 12th.  There is a $25.00 non-refundable entry fee due for those chosen to be in the show.  Checks need to be written to North County Art Association and due by July 25th.  Delivery dates and additional information will be sent to our 15 Artists showing.
